2A. Strategic Plan/Goals: completed. Matewan did not meet goals due to 10% increase, however, did make gains and in several categories, Matewan was close to state and/or county results. Overall, pleased with progress but middle school math remains a concern. IReady: great growth for K – 3.  2nd. & 3rdgrades must pass testing on level to proceed to 4th grade. Looking to seeing what restrictions and guidelines will be implemented.

2B. Parent/Community Involvement: Mrs. Cline, Asst. Supt. Would like to see more outreach with parents/students/staff, similar to the LSIC Festival Matewan PK8 planned for May 26, 2026. Suggestions to plan for Cody Runyon to come for leadership instruction and focus.  Joey Stepp assembly for the students.

Investigating if the “Yellow Taxi” could be used to bring parents to meetings/events or to hold events/meetings in different communities of our school.

2C: Student Support: continue with Career Week and include more “trade” careers. North Carolina church provides items for our students yearly. Rich, Miranda, and Brandy help our students, will invite others as needs arise.
