Barbara Fields serves as the Assistant Principal of Matewan PK-8, bringing 26 years of experience in education. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Alice Lloyd College and her Master’s Degree in Administration Leadership (PK–12) from Marshall University.

Mrs. Fields is dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment where all students can succeed. She is passionate about strengthening student achievement through high-quality instruction, data-driven practices, and a strong focus on literacy and mathematics. She works collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to build a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.

With a deep commitment to her school community, Mrs. Fields strives to ensure that Matewan PK-8 is a place where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential.
